My Pathway to Coaching

At the top of my list of successful life experiences is my marriage of 30 years to James Ochoa and the raising of our two sons. Our oldest son graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and now works and lives in NYC. Our youngest son graduated from Clark University in Biology. He is a jazz musician and is at The University of North Texas getting a Master degree in Behavior Analysis. We are proud and thrilled to see our adult children happy and thriving.

Throughout my life, I have always found myself drawn to helping and supporting others. I spent 28 years in public education as an art specialist along with holding art camps and empowerment workshops for children, women and families out of my studio for many years. I received my license in Massage Therapy in 1988, and most recently my I obtained my Reiki Masters certification.

One of the beauties of teaching art was having the gift of working with every child and their family in the school. I loved finding new ways to empower my students with strategies that supported their strengths and differences so they could feel happy and accomplished.

I found it especially fulfilling to be able to reach a child or parent who was struggling. I discovered a passion for helping others work through difficult periods in their lives, especially those with ADHD, dyslexia, slow auditory processing speed, and a range of physical challenges. Using therapeutic modalities, education, and strategic tools, I was able to guide them toward more successful and happy lives. All of these experiences, I now bring into my toolbox to benefit my coaching clients.

During my teaching career, I continued my education by taking courses that specialized in behavior modification, Gifted and Talented, Learning Differences, and other relevant areas. I have always looked for the answers that would uplift those around me. My husband, James Ochoa, is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in ADHD. We have supported one another in our continued learning and love for helping and teaching others.

In 2011 at The Life Empowerment Center, we began jointly holding educational process groups for couples where at least one partner has been diagnosed with ADHD. From the origin of these groups, my coaching practice grew into what it is today, empowering individuals, students, couples, spouses, and parents through coaching strategies, tools, and education to help them be successful and happy. My goal is always for my clients to build their own tool box through my services and to eventually not need me.

Before leaving public education, I realized it was my calling to continue sharing and gaining knowledge around health and wellness. It was this desire that led me to the Quantum Success Coaching Academy.

Through this training, I now have processes to add to my previous trainings that allow me to assist others in moving forward and manifesting the life they desire.
